As with most sub-sectors in the retail industry, the world of car sales is prone to fluctuations throughout the year. Many showrooms and dealerships experience busy periods in February and August as they try to clear older models to make way for newer ones, followed by equally busy periods in March and September when the new vehicle registration plates are issued.
In order to meet demand during these busy periods, dealerships may need to create extra space in which to display and store the vehicles until they are sold. The fluctuating vehicle sales market means that it is not always viable to have a permanent space on hand for these busy periods.
Paying all year round to maintain a building that only gets used a couple of times a year is not cost-effective for a business. Instead, it makes more sense to use temporary prefabricated structures to increase the usable space of the showroom as and when it is needed.
